Application submission now open
Pre-conferences are independently organized meetings that offer a wide range of population- and issue-specific programming within the field of global health and development.
The AIDS 2022 pre-conference programme will take place on Wednesday, 27 July, and Thursday, 28 July 2022.
For the first time, AIDS 2022 pre-conference meetings will be hosted in person at the Palais des congres de Montreal, Canada, as well as virtually. Organizers can therefore reach a bigger audience and offer a more exclusive event for registered delegates who attend either in person or virtually.
Pre-conference application and selection process
To host a pre-conference, organizations and companies need to submit a letter of interest to [email protected] by Monday, 28 February 2022. The letter must include:
- A brief description of the topic for their event
- The preferred pre-conference package
- The preferred date(s) and time slots (27 and/or 28 July)
Due to the popularity of the pre-conference meetings, applications are reviewed and selected on a rolling basis. Organizers will be informed if their submission has been accepted by 31 March 2022 at the latest.
Pre-conference package options
Organizers are responsible for the full coordination of their pre-conference meetings and can select from two flexible packages, each offering three options.
Our Offer: Standard and Premium packages
For both packages, organizers can select three, five or seven session slots. Session slots each last for 60 minutes and can be pre-recorded sessions, fully live sessions or a combination of both (semi-live sessions), taking place in person and virtually at the same time.
For the in-person component, the standard package includes access to one of the five smaller conference session rooms while the premium package includes access to one of the five larger conference session rooms. The session room includes standard conference set up (chairs, stage and podium) and conference audio-visual equipment.
The allocation of the session slots will be at the discretion of the IAS; however, pre-conference organizers can indicate in their application if they would prefer AM or PM slots (based on GMT-5). Additionally, for medium and large packages, pre-conference organizers can indicate if their session slots should all be scheduled on the same day or split over two days.
Pre-conference meetings are open to all registered delegates. In-person attendance is defined by the room capacity of the selected package. In addition, an unlimited number of registered virtual delegates can attend the pre-conference meetings.
Pre-conference organizers will receive the following benefits:
- Marketing of the pre-conference meeting to registered virtual and in-person delegates
- Pre-conference meeting listed in the conference programme
- Detailed speaker and pre-conference guidelines and ongoing support from the AIDS 2022 Pre-conference team
- Technical support before and during the pre-conference meeting
- Recording of the pre-conference meeting made available to all registered delegates on the virtual platform to watch on demand following the scheduled broadcast
- Q&A function during the scheduled pre-conference session slots
