The 24th International AIDS Conference

Montreal, Canada, and virtually

A bittersweet parting

As the end of our time together at AIDS 2022 draws near, we take leave of each other feeling replenished, having been able to connect in person and virtually over the past five days. We also sign off and take leave of each other with conviction and hope, returning to our work with renewed determination to apply the research and learning from the conference to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. We look forward to coming together again in two years to celebrate the results of the effort we invest now.

Registration reimbursement for visa denials

Concerned about the high number of visa denials for AIDS 2022, we have changed our registration reimbursement policy to support our friends and colleagues who cannot attend the conference in Montreal. If you were denied a visa, you may choose to change your registration with no fee and attend virtually or you may choose to request a full registration refund, dependent on certain criteria.

The deadline to request your change or reimbursement has been extended to 31 August. Any reimbursement request after that date will not be considered.

IAS - the International AIDS Society

IAS – the International AIDS Society – convenes, educates and advocates for a world in which HIV no longer presents a threat to public health and individual well-being. After the emergence of HIV and AIDS, concerned scientists created the IAS to bring together experts from across the world and disciplines to promote a concerted HIV response.

Today, the IAS and its members unite scientists, policy makers and activists to galvanize the scientific response, build global solidarity and enhance human dignity for all those living with and affected by HIV.

The IAS also hosts the world’s most prestigious HIV conferences: the International AIDS Conference, the IAS Conference on HIV Science and the HIV Research for Prevention Conference.
